Intra-District Transfer Request
If you are a Martinez Unified School District resident and would like your student to attend a MUSD school other than their home school click this link for an Intra-District Transfer Request Form. Forms for the 2019-2020 School Year are accepted April 10, 2019 - June 30, 2019. Intra-District transfers are selected by lottery.
Inter-District Release Request
If you reside in the Martinez Unified School District and wish for your student to attend another School District click this link for an Inter-District Release Form.
Inter-District Transfer Request
If you reside in another School District and wish for your student to attend a Martinez Unified School, contact your home School District to get an Inter-District Transfer Release. Requests for the 2019-2020 School Year are processed from February 1, 2019 - October 15, 2019.
Inter-District Transfer Procedures and Timelines

For current school year requests, a final decision will be provided to parents within 30 calendar days from the date of receipt of the request;

For future year requests, a final decision will be issued as soon as possible, but no later than 14 calendar days following the beginning of the school year for which enrollment is sought;

Parents have the right to appeal the district’s final decision to the county board of education within 30 days of the date of a final denial of transfer.

Transfer requests for the future school year are processed from February 1 - October 15th

Inter district transfer requests must be renewed every year

The district will not provide transportation outside the school’s attendance area

Inter-District Transfer Revocations

A current inter district transfer may be revoked or rescinded at any time and the student must return to his/her district of residence

There is no right to appeal a revocation of the interdistrict transfer.

The reasons for revocation may also be considered as a basis for denial of future interdistrict transfer requests.

An interdistrict transfer may be denied or revoked for any of the following reasons:

Any expellable offense

Any suspendable offense
-
A grade point average of 2.0 or less overall, or in the previous term

An unsatisfactory attendance record

Falsifying information on the interdistrict transfer form

Negative financial impact on the district

The transfer would cause or contribute to the district’s enrollment figures exceeding capacity

The transfer would require the district to create a new program or provide new services to serve the student

The district of the student’s residence has denied the transfer request
